About the university
The Deggendorf Institute of Technology, founded in 1994, is a multi-award-winning university of applied sciences located in stunning Bavaria, ranked as one of the best universities of applied sciences in Germany. The DIT strives for academic excellence and is committed to producing global graduates with international degrees to bachelor and master level. The total student population of 8,000 includes almost 30% international students from all over the globe. Study groups rarely include more than 50 students to ensure not only a personal atmosphere but provide individual support for students to excel. All full-time degree programmes are free from tuition fees.
Studies are focused on Business, Engineering, Digitalisation and Healthcare to undergraduate and postgraduate level in full-time and part-time courses, taught in either English or German. All courses meet international quality standards.

Campus & facilities
In the Deggendorf Institute of Technology, you have access to state-of-the-art facilities, from well-equipped lecture rooms to technologically advanced science labs for simulations and experiments, libraries, and a secure IT infrastructure.
Students are distributed throughout eight faculties on three campuses. The main campus in Deggendorf has a large range of degree programmes instructed in either English or German. In the European Campus Rottal-Inn, all students are taught exclusively in English (with international students attending German lessons). Campus Cham is the newest and most compact campus with almost 350 students, 75% being international students. Both Master's programmes are taught completely in English, students benefit from intensive personal supervision in small study groups. The campus has a close relationship with regional and national companies in the field of mechatronics, so students learn equally in an applied and scientific way.
Student life
At the DIT, a great lifestyle is considered to be an important factor for students’ well-being. They are supported with many facilities, such as a range of student clubs, an extensive sports programme (being competitively the most successful University of Applied Sciences in Germany), a big band, campus cinema, an International Week including an international food fair, and social activities or day trips organised by the Erasmus Student Network. The annual campus open-day and summer open-air music festival are firm favourites among the staff and student community.
